Aberdeen woman stole nearly £1000 of meat flowers and dog toys in bizarre shoplifting spree

An Aberdeen woman stole nearly £1,000 of goods in a series of thefts from Aberdeen stores.

Sharon Baxter, whose address was given as Middlefield Terrace, targeted several shops between May 9 and May 24.

The 51-year-old made off with food, meat, flowers, cosmetics, electrical items and even dog toys and dog leads during the spree.

The items were sneaked out of the Coop, Marks and Spencer, Home Bargains and Boots and the total cost of the stolen goods was estimated to be £966.81.

Appearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for sentencing today, Baxter pleaded guilty to the thefts.

Defence agent Ian Hardie said his client had long battled with drug addiction and was now "exhausted" by this lifestyle – and eager to change her ways.

Sheriff Graham Buchanan nevertheless imposed a prison sentence on Baxter.

He said: "There were a large number of thefts, and some where the value was quite substantial.

"A lot of the property was not recovered."

He sentenced her to eight months imprisonment at HMP Grampian.

My Girlfriend was so embarrassed after this..
